Books For Sale: Nicolas Chorier; The dialogues of Luisa Sigea. Isidore Liseux Paris 1890 (Clandestine Piracy likely USA, C: 1920.

Another rescue book recovered form the depths of my Tardis like bookcase (Who’s it by I hear you ask), sorry!, This poor old book is in a very battered boards, the spine is detaching from the boards, but still hanging on in there, can it be rescued to preserve the lie on its spine that states in gilt, THE DIALOGUES OF LUISA SIGEA-PARIS-ISIDORE LISEUX – 1890

This Book

Why list such a thing? well despite being a pirate  from the States (the binding is certainly in one), this is a very nicely produced book, good paper good print and a faithful textual copy on the original Liseux. However probably more of a privateer, than an honest pirate, as when this book unfurls its true colours, we have coloured illustrations. And very nice they are too.

The Dialogues of Luisa Sigea,- Literally translated from the Latin- of- Nicholas Chorier, -Paris- Isidore Liseux -1890. In black boards with significant ware to all edges, spine with title author, publisher and date in gilt is separating from the covers, Contents very good decorative chapter headings 296 pages + Note of the Editor ( an apology for taking out all the boring bits) + a frontispiece and six, hors-text illustrations in colour.

Clandestine Piracy likely USA, C: 1920

Other giveaways are lack of reference to print and publishing details.
