Charles Carrington Collection: Parisian Frolics. Translated from the French by the author of The way of a man with a maid. Published by London, For private circulation only, 1896 (1923)

This Book

An interesting rarity, which as a clandestine title presents something of a puzzle as to publisher, author date and location. However this title does bear some similarities to other titles I have listed previously, in particular, the publishers motif on the title page.

I will link these titles at the base of this listing under See Also.

Back Cover

Clandestine volume containing 4 erotic stories, presumably by Adolphe Belot. The bibliographer Peter Mendes suspects that these are manuscripts that were left unpublished by the publisher Carrington. These works were auctioned in Paris in 1923 at auctioneer, Drouot. Duflou or Hirsch could be considered as publishers. The publication date is therefore likely to be around 1923. The rare work can only be found in 3 private collections.  Mendes210
